Strategy Execution: KPI Realignment – Measure What Matters and Cut the Noise

Your KPIs and OKR’s aren’t just metrics. They’re signals. And in May, it’s time to ask: Are they sending the right ones?

Start by pressure-testing each KPI and OKR. Does it tie back to your most critical value drivers? Does it incentivize the behaviour you actually want? Can it be influenced by those responsible for delivering it?

Many companies suffer from metric overload, 30+ indicators, 5 dashboards and no real clarity. What’s needed is a ruthless cut: remove vanity metrics, consolidate fragmented reportingand define 5–7 indicators that everyone aligns around.

At Jellyfish Consulting, we use the “AIM” test:
• Actionable – Can a manager use this data to make a better decision today?
• Influenceable – Is this something a team can actually control, or is it too far upstream/downstream?
• Meaningful – Does this number reflect what success really looks like?

Once you have your refined KPI or OKR set, redesign how it’s reviewed. Move beyond lagging indicators and build a pattern of live performance dialogue. Strategy execution needs clarity and clarity comes from measurement that matters.

Less noise. More signal. Better results.
